We need to work in concert, each of us pulling our own weight, to leave this place better than we are finding it.

Thanks!
To the key volunteers who worked as the Steering Committee for the 2002 Election:

Charlotte Preston, Paul Auger, Laura Bloomberg, Nancy Ver Steegh, Dick Rogers, Chris Ganzlin, David Stevens, Michael McCormick, Louis Smith, Sue Kluegel, Jody McCormick. Thanks, too, to campaign worker James Hanneman, who assisted this campaign.

Thanks to the Volunteers
More than 200 volunteers actively worked on the 2002 Brett Smith Supporters campaign. It is important that each of us continue to stand for education funding at the state level, for affordable and available health care, and for a fiscally responsible government. Thanks to each volunteer, whose work does truly matter.

Election Outcome

The best efforts of our candidate Brett Smith and the more than 200 volunteers who actively worked on the campaign did not stem the nation-wide Republican Sweep of 2002. While the outcome of this election was 1,853 votes short of election for Brett (out of 22,879 votes cast), we saw the can-do spirit of our volunteers who will continue to stand for education, health care, and responsible government. Election results for 53B are posted here.
